	Events in bold are required for ALL choir members in order to earn credit for class, and events with an asterisk (*) are for ALL choir members; an absence without an approved excuse will cause your grade to suffer. Serious illness or a death in the immediate family are the only acceptable excuses for missing a required activity. Excuses for missing ALL or PART of a rehearsal, written and signed by a parent, must be submitted in writing prior to the rehearsal, or no later than upon the student’s return to school. Notifications of absence that are not EARLY and CONSIDERATE will not be honored, at my discretion, and will affect the student’s grade significantly. Trips, non-school related activities and jobs are NOT acceptable excuses. Students are required to remain at all activities until dismissed by the director. Thank you for your consideration. Read the calendar now and plan your school year accordingly!!!


	We have a Baldwin 7 foot grand piano for sale! Good condition with an excellent sound board that stays in tune very well.

All performances are required as indicated previously. Exceptions will be made for sickness and personal emergencies. If you know of a conflict and cannot work it out, provide a written explanation to your band director AT LEAST TWO WEEKS PRIOR to that conflicting date and you may be excused.

UNIFORMS
The school will provide both the uniform for concert (dresses and tuxes) and marching (hat, coat, pants, spats, suspenders (for freshman), and plume). Each student is expected to provide black shoes, black socks, and white gloves. (Freshman boys must provide a white shirt with the concert uniform))

ALL PERFORMANCES are required as indicated above.
Exceptions will be made for sickness and personal emergencies. If you know of a conflict and connot work it out, provide a written explanation to Mr. Tolrud AT LEAST TWO WEEKS PRIOR to that performance and you may be excused. Once unexcused absence will result in the lowering of that quarter's grade by one complete letter grade. Two unexcuesed absences will result in a failing grade for that quarter. A concert is the culmination of many weeks of hard work and each member of the band is an integral part of that performance.

UNIFORMS
Each Student is expected to provide the following: Black Dress Shoes (Black dress oxford-style shoe with all black sole) and Black Socks. Please do not use an athletic style shoe or a shoe with too big of a heel/sole. The uniform provided to your child is checked out to them free of charge. It consists of pants, top, and collar liner. Please help your child take proper care of the uniform, as it will need to last OMS for many years. Parent/Students will be held responsible for any damage done to the uniform. We will be ordering shoes within the nex month or two. An order form will follow shortly.
